Further Information A definition of the Free-and-Easies is given as "Taverns and early music halls run on casual free-and-easy lines with the customers supplying their own impromptu entertainments." Music hall acts were to be seen in pubs or otherwise "licensed premises": "twice or thrice weekly as a rule, under the name of Free-and-Easies, or Sing-Songs."
