Description By Bertolt Brecht, music by Kurt Weill. Includes some of their most famous songs, Surabaya Johnny, The Song Of Mandalay and The Sailor's Tango. Set in an era of world recession, a time of enormous un-employment, crime and violence. A time when religion becomes assertive and political solutions 'are sought after' urgently, when world war threatens, Chicago gangsters versus the Salvation Army.
