Description an humble individual ... announced, in due form, by printed circulars, his intention of entertaning his friends, "by particular desire," with a display of his "extraordinary abilities." There was first and foremost "The Wonders of the World" —and a very wonderful recitation it was, and as wonderfully delivered! Then there was "intitations (inimitable) of London performers," accompanied by lots of murders, not only of the heroes of the scene, but of Shakespeare, and the respective authors into the bargain! There were also comic songs, set comically to funny tunes, and sung in a style equally
