Description "Tendered by the Premier, Merewether and Variety Minstrel Troupes to the popular Fourth Regiment Band, the members of which are anxious to proceed to Wollongong for the purpose of competing for the Band Championship of the colonies."

"Thirty performers will be seated in the chairs in the first part - an unprecedented event in the history of local minstrelsy in Newcastle. In the second part we have innumerable items, including sketches, farces, dances (sand(?) jigs, long shoes, and double clogs)"
