A new Australian theatrical venture the "Theatre Australis" has been founded for the encouragement and development of Australian drama. Under the direction of Judith Webster and Ella Winter, the initial performance of four Australian one-act plays was given at the 2KY Radiotorium on
Saturday night.
The plays, which were favourably received by a full house, were "Darlinghurst is so Bright," by G. B. Bowman; "Stampede," by Bernard Cronin; "Eligible," by Robin Blaxland; and "At Dusk," by Millicent Armstrong. |
