On 8 Jan, special entertainment to celebrate the start of Japan Week, a cultural programme supported by the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Japanese community and the Council of the City of Sydney. A parade featuring two "Omikoshi" (portable shrine) groups - one from Tachikawa City and the other from Shinjuku in Tokyo - will arrive in the forecourt around noon. Various participants in the parade will display traditional Japanese costumes. Further events during the afternoon include: Japanese Drum groups, vocalists and dancers |
