| Description |
Tidy Town of the Year is an absurd, fast-paced, black comedy that takes place in the cheap 'Traveller’s-Rest-Motor-Inn-Motel' in the small fictitious Australian town of Gandiddiyup. Three cleaners arrive at work to prepare a room for the minister for Tourism, who is coming to judge ‘Tidy Town of the Year’ – a prestigious title that could breathe life back into the dying town. However, their day is turned upside down when they discover a bloody limbless body in the bathroom. Hilarity ensues as the characters' fears, fragility and flaws are exposed: everyone is a suspect; everyone has a motive. As the play twists and turns, the town’s ‘dirty laundry’ is exposed. |
