| Description | Rasing Deviyo" is a Sinhalese original drama to be produced and performed for the first time in Melbourne, as a world premier. It is a political comedy as well as a tragicomedy of lives experienced by ordinary people, during any war. The story is based on legends, folklore and historical records from the period of King Rajasingha the 2nd, but with contemporary simulations. The task was to produce a historical context with a specific meaning, and bring to life as expressing the suffering brought by a political dominance.
