| Description |
Singer-songwriter Isabel Parra was born to the role of folk hero. Daughter of Violeta Para, one of Chile's most adored and revered folk singers and artists, she spent nearly 2 decades travelling with her mother to rural areas learning the songs and stories of miners, farmers and villagers. Isabel carried forward her mother's work and became one of the most important figures in the New Song Movement that swept Chile in the late 60s and 70s. She worked tirelessly to promote and preserve the culture and folklore of Chile. |
