But in this presentation, which has evolved from Alannah O'Sullivan's first solo performance as Dorothy Parker in 1977, there is a much more rounded portrayal of her character. This has come about by introducing, as a foil to her humour, a new figure who serves as a commentator on her as a person, a chorus to her pithy observations, a Boswell to her Johnson. But the last laugh, as always, goes to Dorothy Parker herself. |
