| Description |
'We were tempted to visit the theatre on the evening of Monday last, to witness (in particular) the performance of Bombastes Furioso, and we must say, that, on the whole we were pleased. The first piece was the Heir at Law, after which Mrs Weston sang (in character) "The Swiss toy girl," and was encored' [Gazette] 'Mrs. Laverty sung the "Swiss Toy Boy" between the pieces, and received great applause; this is Mrs Laverty's first essay as a singer. Her voice is not of the first order as regards compass or execution, but she sang with some taste, and her voice is rich and mellow as far as it goes.'[Monitor] |

| Further Information |
Demonstrates the differences in the record we rely on. Is it Mrs Weston or Mrs Laverty (same person) at this time? Is the song "Swiss Toy Girl" or "Swiss Toy Boy"?
