Distinct music traditions blend together seamlessly under the deft composition of David Kotlowy. Patina creates poetic interconnections with Javanese gamelan, the Japanese shakuhachi and western electronics. With music performed by Adelaide's Gamelan In Situ, patina is a congruence between ancient traditions and contemporary performance. Shaped by dancers Ade Suharto and Shin Sakuma, and visual artist Juno Oka, this is cross-cultural exploration at its finest. |
