The Theatre was destroyed by fire on 31 July 1970 during a season the Australian Opera. The Opera relocated the balance of the season to the Capitol Theatre. JC Williamson rebuilt on the same land and opened the new Her Majesty's on 30 November 1973 with a production of A Little Night Music. |
