| Description |
Natives assembled in great force to hold a grand corroboree in honour of the Royal Princes visit at Campbell House Park, residence of Thomas Bowman. Coorong, Port Macleay, Goolwa, Wellington and Milang tribes were represented numbering around 250. The most notable chief present was Rodney of the Coorong tribe of nearly 70. They were offered flour, sugar and tea without meat. They were disappointed as the Duke of Edinburgh supplied them with plenty of sheep when he visited. |
