Description |
Bernard Shaw, in a delightful hilarious characterisation, has created in "Arms and the Man" one of the most colorful and delightful satires of militaristic ambitious Bulgaria of the Balkan Wars of 1880. This is the comedy from which the well-known musical "The Chocolate Soldier" was written. The story of the play takes place in the well-to-do home of Major Petkoff, one of Bulgaria's leding militarists of the time. |
