Description In the tradition of ancient Greek comedy as Aristophanes wrote it the play is vulgar, sexually explicit and very funny. Aristophanes' projection of women as peace-makers couldn't be more timely. His mode was to buil a
comedy around a single idea - in this case Lysistrana leads the women of Athens and Sparta, and other nwighbouring
colonies,in a 'sex-strike' against the makers and fighters of the Peloponnese Wars.
