Description |
Our intention is to present live theatre in a scale and form never before seen in Sydney. The production uses the text of Macbeth as a vehicle in which to explore the relationship of the living, breathing, human body with the ever increasing web of technology within which it finds itself. The dramaturgical key will be the transposition of the supernatural world of the original text into the hyper-media world of the late twentieth century; instead of Macbeth being seduced by three old hags ... he is consumed by a media which can indefinitely reproduce and metamorphose images until it becomes impossible to discern what is real and what it not. The Macbeth Project utilises 'mandala' software, a 'sensed space full body interactive interface'. This remarkable piece of technology allows the performer to control lighting, sound and projection. |
