Description Without brilliant actors, Shaws "Heartbreak House" is bound to be a thoroughly exhausting play in a theatre, not because of the chastening and despairing things it has to say about a bankrupt war-making society, but because of its failure to convert into drama the ideas in its avalanches of pulpiteenng verbosity.
