Description |
Politics. Honour. Liberty. Freedom. Ghosts. Apparitions. Omens. Dreams.
Cæsar has defeated his rivals and is now indisputably the most powerful man in the world. Brutus and Cassius, staunch republicans, worry that this will lead to dictatorship. Petrified that the ideals of their ancestors are under threat, they meet with like-minded men and assassinate the empire?s greatest man.
Shakespeare?s great play of idealism and war is placed under the magnifying to produce a work of scarifying intensity. A requiem for idealism in an age of assassination. A song of nobility in a sordid age. |
