Description |
Four prisoners of war are sleeping in a church. As they dream, their contemporary conflicts become incorporated with the more eternal ones of myth and history. One dreams he is King David; another Adam; two dream they are Abraham and Isaac. The dreams cross and mingle until the soldiers have the common nightmare that they are children in the dreadful furnace. |
