Description |
Programme: "Contact is the premiere work of the Australian Choreographic Ensemble (ACE), a new dance company established by Paul Mercurio in 1992. Over a rehearsal period of eight weeks the work developed from a process of workshops. Contact is a dance theatre piece tracing the journey we make to 'contact' ourselves. It is a multi-media performance with original music and filmset to the sound of a bonfire. The central themes deal with confrontation, conflict and competition."
Reviewer's opinion: "Contact is a full-blooded examination of the basic instincts for connection whether it be the innocence of child's games, the sex play of adults or the submission-domination rituals of punch-ups and wars." |
