Description |
Racine's classic work 'Britannicus' is the story of the Emperor Nero's decline into madness and fratricide. It is the Senecan tradition of theatre - the action happens off stage and the characters report as the play progresses...it is a play of power and the danger and lust for power. Nero is tired of being loved and wants now to be feared by his people. |
