Description |
See the opera stars of tomorrow in a blackly comic production of Handel’s masterful pasticcio. Gerard Jones directs this new production starring the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artists. They take to Wilton's atmospheric setting, following on from The Royal Opera’s series of acclaimed productions of Baroque operas in intimate venues such as the Roundhouse (Orfeo) and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (L’Ormindo and Orpheus). Jones’s contemporary production revels in the story’s violence and gore, and is run through with a thick vein of dark humour. |
