Description |
The play has its setting in England in 1914. When the story opens, Christopher Bent, the hero, is the centre of general indignation for, though young and perfectly fit, he has so far failed to enlist. And to make matters worse, he will give no explanation whatever for his conduct, and indeed treats the scorn of his friends in a flippant manner. |
