AusStage > Data Scope

AusStage continues to be developed in terms of database technology, breadth of data, user interface and server technology.

The number of records entered into AusStage as of 08 September 2010 are as follows:

Events: 51086
Venues: 5214
Contributors: 82952
Organisations: 9271
Resources: 42388

To date we have attempted to create a comprehensive listing of live events with a dramatic content from January 2001, covering all of Australia (excluding music in the form of concerts, rock bands, etc., but including music theatre). However, we are aware of gaps in this data. In particular, not all regions have been covered, while other regions, including some capital cities, have not yet been brought fully up to date. These gaps are due to the fact that we are still developing and perfecting methods to gather and enter information efficiently.

Data from before January 2001 has been garnered from the following sources:

Event Data and details of associated reviews and articles taken from the Australia and New Zealand Theatre Record 1986 - July 1996.
